UNDERRATED: Yunus Malli & Yoshinori Muto

The Bundesliga has been sensational this year and there has been some exceptional performances from some of the leagues top players. This has been great for the excitement of the league as a whole but it has seen a few of the lesser known players overlooked for their contribution to this. Players such as Yoshinori Muto and Yunus Malli, two young emerging talents, have been showing some excellent displays for FSV Mainz. They have been impressive and have also shown glimpses of potentially forming a deadly duo.

“We harmonize up front very well together,” Malli said. “We both bring our performance constantly. When you see the number of our goals, it is clear that we are important to the team. “

Yoshinori Muto, 23 years old (born 15 July 1992)

The young Japanese centre forward has been putting some impressive performances in the Bundesliga. With 7 goals and 4 assists in only 17 games, it has been a great debut season for him at FSV Mainz. Not only does he have an eye for goal but he also possesses a willingness to work for the team and great on the ball technique. He has already made a name for himself in his native homeland of Japan and now looks on his well to doing the same in Germany.

He turned down a move to Chelsea last summer in search for guaranteed first team football and the gamble has certainly worked out well for him.

“The Premier League is a great league, but I’m not ready to play for Chelsea yet,” he explained. “I don’t want to hurry myself and want to develop steadily. The German first division is one of the best leagues in the world. I can face remarkable players from across the globe and it will help me develop.”

Yunus Malli, 23 years old (born Feb 24, 199)

Yunus Malli has arguably been the stand out FSV Mainz this season with his 8 goals and 1 assist in 17 games all from midfield. He has been outstanding playing the attacking midfielder role and he has been putting up performances not to dissimilar from those of Roberto Firmino, last season at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. Incredible dribbling, passing and an eye for goal, its only a matter of time before the top clubs start taking a closer look at this emerging talent.
